This is my fifth Halloween album! By now, you've figured out that I like spookier music. It gives me the opportunity to play around with minor keys, and to add synthesizer for effect. In this album, I have used more synthesizer as melody instead of just background in addition to the acoustic instruments. My favorite song on this album is probably "Casting the Stones," although "Pumpkin Anarchy" comes a close second due to the imagery that the title creates! Other songs on this album that are a different approach for me are "Island Spirits." which is an all-out Reggae piece, and "Walking Through the Graveyard" which is a slightly veiled Cha-Cha (somehow, it seemed appropriate). "Riding in the Night" features a French Horn solo, which is slightly unusual, and "Dirge" is an appropriately creepy funeral march. There is a nice balance between slow, sad songs and upbeat songs on this album. Enjoy!
