Green Day is not your savior. But the spirit of rock n roll might be. And as the greatest punk band alive, they're the loudest vessel we have... to flip-off the oligarchy.   Now, a year into their Grammy-nominated Saviors era one that's reignited the music world (and Coachella stage) by storm. Green Day shows no signs of slowing down. Enter Saviors (Edition de luxe), dropping May 23, 2025. This expanded version includes 7 bonus tracks: the explosive "Smash It Like Belushi," "Fuck Off," "Ballyhoo" and "Underdog," a reflective "Stay Young," plus acoustic renditions of "Suzie Chapstick" and "Father to a Son." Together, they amplify the fire that "The American Dream Is Killing Me" first sparked now more Molotov cocktail than SOS flare. Amazingly, Saviors represents Green Day's 14th studio album, yet somehow this enduring power trio -- Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool & Mike Dirnt -- remain devoted to their defiant craft that has fueled their career-long destruction of every boundary bestowed on the genre, and landed 3 East Bay punks in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. The album was recorded in both London and Los Angeles under the audacious ear and Rock prowess of Green Day's longtime friend & collaborator, GRAMMY Award-winning producer Rob Cavallo.  Need a little inspiration to fight the good fight another day?   Fear not. Saviors (Edition de luxe) is coming May 23.

Stripping away all expectations, constraints, pressures, and limitations, there's a certain purity and allure to art crafted simply for the sake of genuine expression. The desire to unleash one's unencumbered ingenuity and unique vision into the world is an attitude embraced by those often celebrated for pushing boundaries, and it's under this same premise that German newcomers Senna were formed. Drawing their name from the Arabic word for brightness, shine, or glow, bandmates Simon Masdjedi (vocals), Tobias Stulz (guitar/vocals), Marcel DĂĽrr (guitar), Fabian Cattarius (bass), and Leon Dorn (drums), never intended for Senna - a musical outlet originally established as a studio side project - to come into it's own as a fully-fledged unit. Yet, tackling a luminous blend of playful but technical instrumentation and edgy hard-rock meets progressive post-hardcore styling, it's only fitting that both the innovative outfit and their introductory work have entered the limelight for all to enjoy. When she was a child and he a young father, Marc Ribot’s daughter drew a map of a city in deep, rich, vivid blue. When he praised her blue map, she corrected him: It's not a blue map, but a map of a blue city. That distinction stuck with him and eventually inspired a curious song called “Map of a Blue City. Map of a Blue City ruminates on what it means to be lost—the confusion and fear, of course, but also the excitement of so many undreamt-of possibilities. Its history is an odd map of its own, full of false starts, blind alleys, dead ends, and one inconceivable tragedy, all leading to what may be his definitive statement as an instrumentalist, as a songwriter, and even as a singer. While it’s not a singer-songwriter album, it is his first to center his plaintive, wise voice quite so prominently. Map of a Blue City bears the weight of its history gracefully, incorporating recordings made over nearly half of Ribot’s life and reflecting on how he got to this particular moment. “Working on this album for so long, I’ve seen the world change dramatically and not really change at all. Some of the issues today are the same ones I thought about when I was just starting the album, but some are things I couldn’t have dreamt of at the time. But I think that’s why I was so determined to get the production values right. Recording production is really complicated, but it all boils down to what kind of room the listener feels they’re standing in. There are some hard truths and cold observations in these songs. I wanted the room to be small enough so that we couldn’t turn away: but warm enough to feel like you’re hearing it from a friend.”

Wunderhorse’s debut album Cub has taken on a life of its own in the 20 months since its release, with sprawling, psychedelic numbers and sharp grunge refrains alike igniting Wunderhorse’s ever-growing audience. Cub’s campaign and the months following have seen the four-piece graduate from playing in basements and pubs to filling Glastonbury’s Woodsies tent and selling out O2 Academy Brixton.

Across the mammoth tour leading up to and following Cub’s release, Slater and his bandmates – guitarist Harry Fowler, drummer Jamie Staples and bassist Peter Woodin – gradually and naturally became a fully-formed band, and left the solo era of Wunderhorse behind.

As their crowds have grown exponentially in both scale and ardency, and Cub’s tracks have reached the status of cultural reference points within the younger contingents of their fanbase, it seems harder than ever to recall a time when frontman Jacob Slater believed that his career was over before his twenties had even begun.

Having burned himself out as the teenage frontman of the much-hyped but ultimately ill-fated punk outfit Dead Pretties, Jacob retired to Cornwall to repair the damage that he had caused himself.

It was whilst working as a surf instructor on the UK’s south western perimeter that Jacob rekindled his love of songwriting: this time spinning introspective, considered compositions which transcended his younger years and went on to form the foundations of Wunderhorse.

The band’s second album ‘Midas’ came out in August 2024 to critical acclaim, charting in the UK 10 Top, featuring in album of the year lists for DORK, Telegraph, Rolling Stone, NME expanding their audiences in Europe, United States, Australia and beyond.

2025 release. On The Little Ones, James joins the long lineage of winking American tearjerkers, the great crying-in-your-beer smart alecks like Warren Zevon, John Prine, or even Tom Waits. With a similar rollicking ease on keyboard instruments, Felice sidles up next to Dr. John and bears Randy Newman's torch, frequently squeezing the blood of a catchy chorus from the stone of an unlikely song subject. His sometimes wounded, side-of-the-mouth vocal delivery brings longtime collaborator Bright Eyes to mind.

After quietly amassing a grassroots fanbase through the release of his 2013 debut Nostalgic 64 and 2015 double EP 32 Zel/Planet Shrooms, Carol City, FL's Denzel Curry stopped flying under the radar with the release of this full-length, Imperial. Containing references to his love of visual art -- from manga to the stylings of globe-trotting art collective Metro Zu -- with his story telling abilities informed by growing up in the streets of Carol City, Imperial placed him in a category by himself as underground rap's most authentic and ready-to-blow up voice.

Imperial was both his finest work to date and his best received. The brief, breathless album showcases his near-peerless technical skill along with a newfound maturity in his songwriting. “I was going through a dark time,” Curry says now of the time that birthed Imperial. So he challenged himself to find a radical level of transparency. “The whole theme of that tape is just being honest--exposing myself before anybody else does, talking about my past, talking about where I’m heading to.”

Billie Holiday - "All Or Nothing At All (Verve Acoustic Sounds Series)" [180g LP]Recorded in five sessions over 1956/1957 and released in 1958, this 12-track affair is loaded with the classic standards from Berlin, Ellington, Gershwin and more. Though some claimed Billie Holiday was beyond her peak at this point, it was Miles Davis who countered that this was her most effective time with her "deepest understanding and control" of the repertoire she was performing. Her supporting cast on this album contributes to that as well, which included Barney Kessel (Guitar), Ben Webster (Tenor Sax), "Sweets" Edison (Trumpet), and Jimmy Rowles (Piano). Verve Acoustic Sounds Series features transfers from analog tapes and remastered 180-gram vinyl in deluxe gatefold packaging.
