Of all the remarkable talents to arise form the dancehalls of Kingston, Jamaica, few have proved more compelling or controversial than Adidja Palmer, better known as Vybz Kartel. After breaking into the music business by penning hits for artists like Bounty Killer, he eventually decided to record for himself and has come back to dominate Jamaica's music scene, emerging as the genre's biggest trendsetter. Kingston Story was produced by Brooklyn-based producer Dre Skull and released on his independent label Mixpak Records in digital form only. Now Kingston Story begins a new chapter, being re-released by Vice in a deluxe edition. It's a welcome release with some towering highlights to boot.
