More Info:
Traditional Christmas music updated with contemporary rhythms and harmonies. There are more than a few surprises mixed in. These are all instrumental versions of familiar and not-so-familiar Christmas carols, beginning with the haunting melody of a traditional Gaelic carol that will have you listening to it over and over again! There are some unexpected style surprises, notably the Cuban rhythm version of "O Christmas Tree," and the Cajun version of "How Brightly Shines the Morning Star". There is an unusual percussion accompaniment to the Handel original "While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks By Night", and a heavy metal rendition of "Up on the Housetop". There is a 1930's style piano solo of "Jolly Old Saint Nicholas" that seems perfectly suited to the melody. Be sure to check out the "Huron Carol". It is an arrangement of the oldest Christmas Carol written in the Americas (from the 1600's) written by a missionary with the Huron tribe in Canada. It has a delightful Renaissance quality. You'll also find a jazz version of the Medieval carol "Blessed Be That Maid Marie". There is much more to discover! It's time to get your Christmas on!
