Christian Death, the seminal creators of Dark Goth/ Death Rock have returned with “The Root of All Evilution. Formed in Los Angeles in 1982, and pulling elements from punk rock, early bowie, and the need to address the overreaching corruption of organized religion in the world, Christian Death has remained the god fathers of Goth, and have continued to influence their contemporaries; Nine Inch Nails, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Type O Negative, every Goth band that has come since their inception. In March of 2015 Christian Death announced that they would be making a new album entitled "The Root of All Evilution" via Knife Fight Media/The End Records, they sought the help of their fans to make this album. They accomplished this through utilizing the crowd funding platform Pledge music. Through Pledge the band was able to raise enough funds to not only make the album but also have it mastered at the legendary Gateway Mastering owned and run by Bob Ludwig. The Root of All Evilution is a true return to classic form for Christian Death, evoking the essence of “Catastrophe Ballet” but with a storied mature direction, that outlines the 33 year history of a band who’s focus has always been on free expression and freedom from religious confinements. This is the album the Goth Community have been clamoring for!
