Joining him are trumpeter Blue Mitchell, baritone saxophonist Pepper Adams, alto saxophonist James Spaulding, and drummer Mickey Roker. Highlights include soulful covers of Ray Charles' "What Could I Do Without You," and "Feeling Good," which Nina Simone recorded the year before.
