This release faithfully re-creates the original one-sided promo 12� for the single �Gett Off� that introduced Prince�s new band. The cover and label proclaimed, �Nothing can stop�Prince and the New Power Generation� and the release contains the �damn near 10 min� mix of the song on one side with a blank flip side. The original version was provided to radio and club DJs as a promo on Prince�s 33rd birthday (June 7, 1991) and only 1,500 copies were created. Not originally planned to be included on the 1991 album Diamonds and Pearls, the response to the �track was so strong that an edited version was added to the album and became a successful single.

3 Feet High and Rising is the debut studio album by hip-hop trio De La Soul, and was released on March 3, 1989. It marked the first of three full-length collaborations with producer Prince Paul, which would become the critical and commercial peak of both parties. It contains the singles, �Me Myself and I�, �The Magic Number,� �Buddy,� and �Eye Know�. The album title came from the Johnny Cash song �Five Feet High and Rising�. It is listed on both Rolling Stone�s 200 Essential Rock Records and The Source�s 100 Best Rap Albums. When Village Voice held its annual Pazz & Jop Critics Poll for 1989, 3 Feet High and Rising was ranked #1. It was also listed on Rolling Stone�s The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Released amid the 1989 boom in gangsta rap, which gravitated towards hardcore, confrontational, violent lyrics, De La Soul's uniquely positive style made them an oddity beginning with the first single, �Me, Myself and I.� Their positivity meant many observers labeled them a �hippie� group, based on their declaration of the �D.A.I.S.Y. Age� (Da. Inner. Soul. Yall). Sampling artists as diverse as Hall & Oates, Steely Dan and The Turtles, 3 Feet High and Rising is often viewed as the stylistic beginning of 1990s alternative hip hop (and especially jazz rap). 3 Feet High & Rising was chosen by the Library of Congress to be added to the National Recording Registry for its cultural significance and general excellence.

Seminal rare groove funk and deep soul album originally released in 1973 on GRC Records, now released 50 years later on Soul Jazz Records in this fully remastered edition of this CLASSIC album for RSD Black Friday.

Ripple's unique blend of funk, soul, rock, proto-disco and more stood them alongside groups like Funkadelic, Brass Construction, Mandrill, Pleasure, Kool and the Gang, and The Blackbyrds, who were all blending these styles while remaining firmly focused on the dancefloor. Like the group Funkadelic, Ripple hailed from Michigan, and in 1976 opened for the group on their Parliament/Funkadelic Mothership Connection tour. The self-titled album Ripple contains the all-time classic "I Don't know What It Is, But It Sure Is funky", one of the most memorable funk tunes of all time, sampled many times over. This classic album has been out of print for nearly 30 years on vinyl and is now fully remastered and presented here with its original artwork.

The Body-Hat Syndrome is the third album from the rap group Digital Underground. �The album's second single, an anti-racism cultural awareness politico called "Wussup Wit the Luv," features a solo from the Funkadelic guitarist Michael Hampton, as well as a verse and video appearance by Tupac Shakur. This was the last time Shakur appeared on any Digital Underground release. �The album also contains "The Humpty Dance Awards," the group's humorous shout-out to the many artists who sampled "The Humpty Dance" before 1993 (since then the list has grown to more than 50 artists). �The Body-Hat Syndrome, originally released on October 5, 1993, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. It has only been released as a special Italian vinyl version making this RSD Black Friday the first time it will be released on vinyl globally.

The fourth night of the famed Fillmore West run that produced the bulk of Live/Dead is an exceptional example--going back more than 54 years�as to why you never miss a Sunday show. Opening (!!) with what would later be known as the Live/Dead suite, 3/2/69 demonstrates the Dead had not only NOT run out of steam after three magnificent shows, in many ways they surpassed the previous nights' wildly powerful music. When your first set is the entire Live/Dead suite, what do you for a second set? Simple! You play for more than an hour and half, making sure everyone goes home way too late, but unimaginably happy.

Creative Improvisation Ensemble captures the meeting of two avant-garde giants, Marion Brown and Wadada Leo Smith, on May 12, 1970 in Paris, France. The session finds Brown and Smith on their primary instruments, alto saxophone and trumpet respectively, with both musicians performing various percussion instruments as well. The release marks the latest edition of Org Music�s Freedom Records reissues series, mastered for vinyl by Dave Gardner and pressed at Pallas Group on transparent red audiophile-grade vinyl. �The album has not been pressed on vinyl since its original release in 1975.

Their debut album Get the Knack sold over six million copies worldwide. Their signature combination of pop melodies and irresistible rock beats broke the stranglehold of Disco and changed the course of popular music for the next decade.

Originally released in 1995 on Metal Blade Records, You Have the Right to Remain Silent is shock rock from members of the band GWAR and other musicians connected to the band. Peter Lee started this band after being shot in a failed carjacking attempt. The idea for X-Cops sparked while filming a commercial segment for Gwar�s Skulhedface. Lee and Dave Brockie were dressed as police officers and Lee pondered, �What would be cooler than a bunch of cops playing kick-ass rock and roll?� This led to Lee, Brockie and GWAR�s drum technician, Mike Dunn, starting X-Cops as a three-piece band.

You Have the Right to Remain Silent is more metal-oriented than what GWAR was releasing at the time (1995), with speed metal riffs, drums & relentless energy. While the lyrics are roll-on-the-floor laughable (intentionally), the music is seriously amazing. Highly recommended for those with a taste for offensive/tasteless/sick humor! If you�re a fan of GWAR & know what GWAR�s all about, then you�ve been missing out & should pick up this remastered album right away! X-Cops is an essential listening experience! Lost Demos by Linkin Park is a 14-track compilation of fully realized songs and works in progress that were recorded before and during the sessions for their landmark second album Meteora. Lost Demos was included on CD in the limited edition Meteora 20th Anniversary Edition Super Deluxe Box Set. It has never been released on vinyl.

Although the release title includes the word �demos�, the first three tracks are songs that were completed during the Meteora recording sessions but were not included on the final album. �Lost� was released to promote the Meteora 20th Anniversary Edition and became a hugely successful single globally. Fan favorites �Fighting Myself� and �More The Victim� round out the trifecta of unearthed studio treasures. Both make their vinyl debut along with �Lost� on this compilation.

In 2010 Madlib launched the Madlib Medicine Show Series - an ambitious undertaking that saw Madlib release a new title on a monthly basis - which kept him busy into 2011. The series debuted with Before The Verdict with Guilty Simpson, a seventeen track rap outing with the Detroit MC. In addition to being the debut of Madlib's Medicine Show Series the release also served as a prelude to Guilty Simpson's OJ Simpson album, his collaboration with Madlib from later that year.
