Through the eyes and ears of an old abandoned apartment block in the centre of Berlin, 'Lichtenberg' tells stories from five different periods of recent Berlin History. A Weimar murder, a Nazi meeting, an East German family's escape, the arrival of two 90's squatters and finally, a woman who hopes to host a young Syrian refugee in her flat. Collectively the stories, framed against the reality of an ever-changing, ever-gentrifying Berlin, ask the viewer to consider that history belongs to these old buildings.
