Reviews:

As part of Organized Konfusion (along with Pharoahe Monch), Prince Po(etry) made some of the early '90s' most gob-stopping rap. MIA since, Po pops back onto the radar with The Slickness, settling uneasily between the backpack cipher and the pimperish club strut. He's streamlined his booming, elastic flow-probably for "impact," though if anything he deadens it by truncating his Big Ideas into party-starting, party-line monosyllables. But his all-star indie producers (including Danger Mouse, Madlib and Richard X) and guests (MF Doom, Raekwon) pick up the slack about three-quarters of the time. Best in show are the two versions of "Hold Dat": the album cut (an all-consuming death drone) and the club mix (some stanky, Brillo-scrubbed "Jam on It" wikky-wikky).
