Mills Record Company

Moving swiftly through his late '60s post-bop and modal beginnings, and on to becoming one of the foremost pioneers of jazz-funk, and a key figure in the acid jazz movement, "The Godfather of Neo Soul" Jack Wilson returns with 'Ramblin', a collaboration with vibist Roy Ayers and the wonderful combination of their two instruments that work so well together. Ayers is a percussive stylist in the manner of Bobby Hutcherson. Wilson is a melodic, lyrical and polished pianist. The pair have a unique way of blending vibes and piano that leads to some wonderful improvisations across this collection of covers, seeing them paint their own style onto standout tracks including 'Stolen Moments', 'Pensativa' and 'Kilo'.
