Refreshingly different...an original take on mainstream genres! Top shelf songwriting and arrangements. Beautifully played; Excellent vocals; and exceptionally well mixed. Die aktuelle CD von Edison & Hirsch ist der Beweis daf*r, da* man i'm Land der aufgehenden Sonne auch gute Country Music produzieren kann. Die CD mit ihren 11 Songs ist auf die aktuelle Marktsituation angepa*t. Die einzelnen Titel sind ein Mix zwischen Country, Rock, R&B, Gospel und Ethnic-Style. Eine ausgesprochene gewagte Zusammenstellung. Hier sollte aber auch das Potential der CD liegen. Dadurch, da* sehr viele Musikrichtungen abgedeckt werden, ist die Musik von Edison & Hirsch nicht nur f*r eine Fangruppierung etwas. Fazit: Eine sehr ausgewogene CD, die den Nerv der Zeit trifft Christian Lamitschka / Germany Alternative/Adult Contemporary/Americana best describes the work of Edison and Hirsch, but genre labels fail to adequately encompass the songwriting and performances found on Native Son. With this release, Edison and Hirsch take listeners on a uniquely packaged musical tour with stopovers in several popular genres. From the rock influenced entreaty to 'Lady Liberty'; to the urban-styled ballad 'Thru the Years'; the ethnic call for tolerance in 'Native Son'; the gospel-like summons of 'Heart of a Song'; the pure fun of a country line dance in 'I Wanna Heel 'n Toe'; to the tongue and cheek plight of a seeker in 'Peeping Tom', Edison and Hirsch blur the divides of popular genres and focus on what they do best make good music.
