On July 26 2005 at 10:39 EDT the Space Shuttle Discovery was launched making it the first shuttle launch since the February 2003 Columbia disaster. Never before has a manned space launch and mission been recorded in such detail. Over 124 cameras covered the launch and for the first time exterior cameras were used to record booster separation.
