More Info:

There haven't been many Britgirl 1950s Rock & Roll collections before, so here we have something completely different; and as you might expect, this set contains a few genuine collectors' rarities. When R&R arrived in the UK in the mid-50s, indigenous singers were quick to weigh in with cover versions, and these of course included many of the established female singers of the era. Consequently, as unlikely as they might seem, this compilation features names like The Beverly Sisters, Lita Roza, Alma Cogan, Eve Boswell, Joan Regan and Marion Ryan, all handling Big Beat material, alongside much younger singers like Janice Peters, The Vernons Girls, The Lana Sisters and Sally Kelly. And if it's collectable obscurities you're after, look no further than Joyce Shock, The Terry Sisters, Do & Dina Farrell, Sandra Alfred and Kerry Martin.
