NEW RELEASE RUNDOWN We're kicking off November (!) with an eclectic mix of new releases to warm your bones. A few of our higher-profile new releases this week are actually reissues, so we'll start with those.
First up is a 25th anniversary edition of Nirvana's classicMTV Unpluggedrecord. This is already one of the top selling vinyl titles across the board, but this revamped pressing comes on two LP's and features five rehearsal performances never before available on vinyl.
R.E.M.'s alt-rock classicMonsteris also celebrating its 25th birthday (it's almost like 1994 was an important year for music or something). They're reissuing the record on a standard LP and deluxe LP set. A must.
It's also the 50th anniversary of the Stones'Let It Bleed. There aren't too many more iconic rock albums, and few recordings do a better job of reflecting their times than "Gimme Shelter." An absolute essential for any collection.
As far as brand new music goes, we've got the new LP from post-punk trio Omni, who make their Sub Pop debut withNetworker. We loved their last album,Multi-Task, and this one picks up right where they left off.
British indie folk singer-songwriter Michael Kiwanuka returns withKiwanuka, and while the record shipped late, we're expecting the indie-exclusive vinyl to arrive to us tomorrow.
I'm personally pretty excited about the collaboration between Deerhoof's Bradford Cox and Welsh artist Cate Le Bon (who put out one of this year's best records).Myths 004 is the newest installment in Mexican Summer's excellent series of collaborative music making. Check out a samplehere.
To round it out, we've got the picture disc version of High on Fire's celebratedElectric Messiahrecord, and a 4xLP set of Ty Segall demos and unreleased material from the last decade. Check the full list below and come see us!
